Caring
For Your
Equipment
Best Practices For
Best Performance
By CEA Division Staff
Prevention is a common theme in horticulture. We scout our
crops and use preventative sprays to avoid disease, insect, and
mite outbreaks. We test our media pH and EC to understand
if we are properly meeting crop needs. And we clean our
production spaces to avoid carryover pests. Best practices call
for us to apply the same mentality to our equipment.
Some of the equipment CEA growers rely on the most for daily
needs in our production spaces include lights, injectors, and
sprayers. Preventative maintenance is something that comes
naturally to most and is often formalized with maintenance
plans. As much as we try to capture everything, it’s easy to
overlook some common mistakes that can result in damage,
down time, and disappointment. Let’s review some issues that
pop up regularly for sprayers, Dosatron injectors, and lights.
